Coach Beiste of Glee
Dot Marie Jones has received 3 consecutive Emmy® Award nominations (2011, 2012, 2013) for her role as football coach Shannon Beiste on the television show Glee. With an expansive list of diverse film and television credits, Jones is known for her poignant roles in both dramas and comedies.
A retired athlete, Jones attended California State University Fresno, where she set records for shot put, and in 1988 and 1992 qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials for shot put. Jones is also a 15-time world arm wrestling champion.
A California native, Jones currently resides in Los Angeles. She is an impassioned supporter of charities that empower children and teach acceptance.
